Ingredients
  

  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 1/8 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 slices hearty sourdough bread about 1/2-inch thick
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro optional
  • 1/2 small radish thinly sliced, optional

Instructions
 

  • Cut the avocado in half lengthwise, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a small mixing bowl.
  • Add the kosher salt, lemon juice, and black pepper to the avocado, then mash with a fork until creamy but still slightly chunky.
  • Toast the sourdough bread slices in a toaster or toaster oven until golden brown and crisp around the edges, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Drizzle 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil over each slice of warm toast, ensuring it soaks slightly into the bread.
  • Evenly divide the avocado mixture between the two toast slices, spreading it to cover the surface with the back of a spoon.
  • Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, fresh cilantro, and arrange radish slices on top if desired, then serve immediately while the toast is still warm.
