Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • microwave-safe bowl
  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • spatula
  • 8x8-inch baking pan
  • parchment paper
  • cutting board
  • knife

Ingredients

Fudge Base

  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp fine salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1/2 cup Valentine's Day themed sprinkles

Instructions

  • Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on two opposite sides for easy removal.
  • In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate chips, and softened butter. Heat in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until the mixture is completely smooth and the chips have melted.
  • Stir the pure vanilla extract and fine salt into the melted mixture until fully incorporated.
  • Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the bowl, mixing with a sturdy spoon or rubber spatula until a thick, cohesive fudge batter forms. This should take about 2-3 minutes of vigorous mixing.
  • Working quickly before the fudge sets, press the thick batter firmly into the prepared baking pan using lightly buttered fingers or the bottom of a measuring cup to create a smooth, even surface.
  • Immediately cover the surface evenly with Valentine's Day themed sprinkles and gently press them down so they adhere.
  • Refrigerate the pan, uncovered, for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is completely firm and set.
  • Using the parchment paper overhang, lift the entire block of fudge from the pan. Place it on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to cut into 1-inch squares.

Notes

Work quickly when pressing the fudge into the pan before it sets. Use lightly buttered fingers or a measuring cup for a smooth top.
