Equipment

  • oven
  • baking sheet
  • knife
  • cutting board
  • small saucepan
  • whisk
  • spoon
  • tongs
  • measuring spoons
  • measuring cups

Ingredients

  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage
  • 1/2 cup apple jelly
  • 1/4 cup grainy Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Slice the kielbasa sausage into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Arrange the sausage slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake the kielbasa slices for 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cook time. The slices should be lightly browned and some of their fat will have rendered onto the pan.
  • While the kielbasa bakes, make the glaze. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the apple jelly, grainy Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, crushed red pepper flakes, and 2 tablespoons of water. Whisk constantly until the jelly has melted completely and the mixture is smooth and bubbling, about 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Pour the hot glaze over the partially baked kielbasa bites on the baking sheet. Use a spoon or tongs to toss the kielbasa until each piece is thoroughly coated.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 10 to 12 minutes, until the glaze is sticky, thick, and caramelized around the edges of the sausage.
  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately transfer the glazed kielbasa bites to a serving platter. Garnish with the finely chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Line the baking sheet for easy cleanup. Garnish with parsley just before serving.
