  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together using an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
