Ingredients

  • 1 lb top sirloin steak
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger minced
  • ½ cup light mayo
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 carrot thinly sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms halved
  • 1 yellow onion chopped
  • 1 zucchini chopped
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 4 green onions sliced

Instructions

  • Combine soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin, garlic, and ginger in a bowl to make the marinade.
  • Marinate the steak for at least 20 minutes.
  • Sauté vegetables in olive oil until tender-crisp and season with soy sauce.
  • Cook fried rice in butter and garlic, add soy sauce, scrambled egg, and green onions.
  • In a separate pan, sear the steak 3–5 minutes per side.
  • Let steak rest, slice thinly, and serve hot with mustard sauce on the side.

Notes

Swap in ribeye or tofu for different variations. Use coconut aminos for a gluten-free version. Hibachi noodles make a fun twist instead of rice.
