Halloween Popcorn With Marshmallows And Candy Corn

Ingredients
- 4 cups popped popcorn
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
- orange food coloring gel several drops
- 1 cup candy corn
- 1/2 cup black candy-coated chocolates or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Pour the popped popcorn into a large bowl, picking out and discarding any unpopped kernels. Set the bowl aside.
- In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously with a rubber spatula until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Remove the pot from the heat and immediately stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and several drops of orange food coloring gel until the color is evenly distributed and vibrant.
- Immediately pour the hot marshmallow mixture over the popcorn. Use a greased spatula to gently fold and mix until all of the popcorn is evenly coated in the orange marshmallow.
- While the mixture is still warm and pliable, gently fold in the candy corn and black candies until they are evenly distributed throughout the popcorn.
- Grease your hands with butter or cooking spray and press the popcorn mixture firmly into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Let the treats rest at room temperature for at least 1 hour, or until completely set and firm to the touch. Once set, use a sharp knife to cut the slab into bars or break it into chunks for serving.
Notes
Grease your hands and the spatula to prevent sticking. Let the mixture set completely before cutting for clean bars.
