Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until fully liquid and bubbling slightly.
  • Add 3 cloves minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant but not browned, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
  • Whisk in 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour and cook for 1 minute until the mixture forms a smooth paste and turns light golden in color.
  • Gradually pour in 1 cup whole milk while whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  • Stir in 1/2 cup heavy cream and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes until the sauce coats the back of a spoon.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese until completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
  • Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, then stir in 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley until evenly distributed.

Notes

Serve immediately while warm, or keep covered for up to 10 minutes until ready to use.
