Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh turmeric root, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, juiced about 3 tablespoons
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional

Instructions
 

  • Combine water, ginger slices, turmeric slices, and optional cinnamon stick in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover saucepan, and simmer gently for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse into the water.
  • Remove saucepan from heat and stir in lemon juice, honey, and black pepper until the honey is fully dissolved.
  • Strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve into mugs, pressing on the solids to extract all liquid.
  • Serve immediately while warm, stirring occasionally as natural separation may occur.
