Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 8 ounces wide egg noodles
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the noodles and set them aside in a colander.
  • While the noodles cook, heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  • In the same skillet, melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant and slightly softened, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon to prevent burning.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth, about 1 minute. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  • Add the cooked chicken and drained noodles to the skillet with the sauce. Toss everything together gently until the noodles and chicken are evenly coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if using. Serve immediately while warm.
