Equipment

  • cutting board
  • knife
  • serving board
  • small bowls or ramekins
  • measuring cups

Ingredients

Cheeses

  • 8 oz Brie cheese, round refrigerated
  • 6 oz sharp Cheddar cheese, block refrigerated
  • 4 oz fresh goat cheese log refrigerated

Meats

  • 4 oz pre-sliced hard salami
  • 3 oz prosciutto, thinly sliced

Fruits & Nuts

  • 1 cup red grapes washed and thoroughly dried
  • 1 cup green grapes washed and thoroughly dried
  • 1 large Fuji apple cored and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup roasted almonds, unsalted

Accompaniments

  • 4 oz artisan crackers, assorted varieties
  • 1 baguette sliced diagonally into 1/2-inch thick pieces
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • 1/4 cup local honey
  • 1/4 cup cornichons drained
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary for garnish

Instructions

  • For optimal flavor and texture, remove the Brie, Cheddar, and goat cheese from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before you plan to serve. This allows them to soften slightly and release their full aromatic profiles.
  • Wash and dry the red and green grapes. Core the Fuji apple, then slice it thinly into 1/4-inch to 1/2-inch thick pieces, setting them aside. Drain any excess liquid from the cornichons.
  • For the Brie, slice it into elegant wedges, leaving some rind intact. Cut the block of sharp Cheddar into bite-sized cubes or triangular pieces. The goat cheese log can be left whole or sliced into thick rounds, depending on your preference.
  • Artfully fan out the pre-sliced hard salami on one section of your chosen serving board. Gently drape the thinly sliced prosciutto into appealing folds or small piles nearby.
  • Arrange the assorted artisan crackers and the sliced baguette pieces in various clusters around the board. Ensure they are easily accessible for scooping and topping.
  • Scatter the washed grapes, apple slices, and dried apricots around the cheeses and meats. Fill any remaining open spaces with the roasted almonds.
  • Place the fig jam and honey into small, separate serving bowls or ramekins and position them strategically on the board. Add the drained cornichons to another small dish or directly onto the board in a small pile.
  • For a touch of fresh aroma and visual appeal, tuck the fresh rosemary sprigs into open spaces on the board. Serve your elegant cheese charcuterie board immediately and encourage guests to mix and match flavors.

Notes

For optimal flavor and texture, remove the cheeses from the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before serving.
